On April 2, more than 500 “stars” attended the 55th annual Picnic Under the Stars gala at the newly renovated Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch to support the American Cancer Society. This premiere fundraising event is one of the longest continuously held distinguished events in the Phoenix area, beginning in Barry Goldwater’s backyard in 1962 with chair Mrs. Robert Goldwater. By evening’s end, more than $400,000 was raised to support the American Cancer Society, which will fund lifesaving cancer research, education and outreach, and quality of life programs and services in Arizona.
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s. Join us to help finish the fight.
